MOBILE OPTICAL PLUGGABLES Alliance (MOPA) announces its First best paper award to an OFC POST DEADline paper

The newly established MOPA Scientific Program has announced its first Best Paper Award for the Optical Fiber Conference (OFC) post deadline paper “Heterogenous InP Electro-Absorption Modulator with Si Waveguides for Beyond 200 Gbps/λ Optical Interconnects” by Armands Ostrovskis, et al. The awarded research introduces a Heterogeneous InP Electro-Absorption Modulator integrated with Si Waveguides, demonstrating an exceptional capability for energy-efficient, high-performance data transmission without optical amplification—a breakthrough for next-generation data center connectivity. Armands, from Riga Technical University, expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting its significance in promoting further collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors. “This MOPA award underlines the critical impact and industry relevance of our research, encouraging continued partnerships towards innovative solutions,” he remarked.
